EXTRA CREDIT OPTIONS in Fall 2009 Four (4) extra credit options (3 points each) allowed per student per semester. Total max. extra credit points obtainable: 12 = 4 percentage points added to your final grade. All written work must be turned in in hard copy; no e-mail submissions, please! Extra credit options will be posted throughout the semester. Stay tuned. Extra credit option: Write a relevant comment of 1-2 paragraphs about the "Philosophy on the Mesa" blog entry, A New Face: Officer Kimberly Munley" and post it or turn it in. Extra credit option expired: Social Sciences Occasional Lecture Friday Nov.6, 12:00-2:00, LRC 435. Lecturer in Philosophy Josef Binter will talk about “Nietzsche's Last Year.” Sign in and stay for the first hour, and earn 3 points! Earn an extra 3 points by writing 1/2-1 page about something in the lecture referring to Nietzsche's view on women. Option still active. Extra credit option: Read or watch Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code and write 1/2-1 page about the secret role of Mary Magdalene according to the story. Extra credit option: Read Diamant's The Red Tent, and write 1/2-1 page about its relevance for the theory of Goddess worship in ancient times. Extra credit option: Rent and watch Mona Lisa Smile and write 1/2-1 page about something not mentioned in the course packet Ch.12.
