As part of the Sons of Guadalupe project a number of taped interviews were conducted in order to document the Vietnam veterans experiences as they grew up in Guadalupe, their boot camp experiences and significant events of their Vietnam war tours. In addition, information and documentary evidence of the war's impact on their lives and their family's lives was also collected in the transcriptions of the taped interviews below. These interviews took place over several months, from June 2006 through January 2007 in various locations including Guadalupe, Santa Maria, Nipomo Mesa, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Moorpark, Whittier, Monterey and San Francisco Bay region in California. For most of the veterans this was the first time that they had discussed their Vietnam War experiences with anyone. The interviews are highly revealing on the various topics that were discussed. Included in these transcribed interviews are photographs of the men as young soldiers and later as adults in the present day. This information is frequently revised and updated. Please check periodically for the latest information, including additional testimonials and photos. Jimmy Castillo Jimmy Inguito
