Center sculpture represents, Queen Salamasina, Samoan historical leader who, during the 16th century, united all of the Samoan islands under one leadership for the first, and only time. Mixed media. approx. 36"W x 77"H x 30"D.

SUITONU AND ME.

This piece and the entire installation are inspired by a trip I made with my grandfather, the late Reverend Suitonu of the First Samoan Congregational Church, to visit family in Samoa and American Samoa.

TALES OF A FISHERMAN.

It deals with my Uncle Keneti's assimilation to the U.S. He chose to join the U.S. Marine Corps during the war in Vietnam. A Samoan warrior became a U.S. warrior as a means of assimilating. He returned 3 times. He received 3 purple hearts.
