Geology 101—Geology Lab, San Diego Mesa College Onsite Coastal Processes Lab at La Jolla Shores Beach--print out this page and bring it with you! Date: Tuesday, May 12th, 1 - 3:10 pm For this lab, we’ll meet at La Jolla Shores beach. Here, we’ll learn about some of the important beach processes that affect the coast in San Diego. Driving Directions to La Jolla Shores (from Mesa College area): Get on I-5 heading North. From I-5, near the Highway 52 exit, take the La Jolla Parkway exit west, toward the beach. After approximately 2 miles, turn right at the stoplight, onto La Jolla Shores Drive. In approx. ½ mile, turn left onto Frescota. This will take you right in to the La Jolla Shores parking lot. We’ll meet at the wall by the Lifeguard tower. I understand that some students have class until around 12:30 pm. Just come as soon as you possibly can. I won't start the introductory lecture until approx. 1 pm. What To bring: · Old shoes/clothes you don’t mind getting a bit wet · Pencil/Pen · Clip board (or a hard surface for writing) · Light jacket, sweater, or sweatshirt (it may be cold!!!) · Calculator · Sun hat I'll have a lab packet for you when you arrive. No need to bring your lab book. See you there! |
