Clocking-in procedures for students keeping track of their independent study times:

1)      DO NOT CHECK IN AT THE COMPUTER LAB SINCE YOUR TIME WILL NOT BE RECORDED FOR THIS CLASS. YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH AUDIO VISUAL.

2)      Students will need to go to the CIL/Audio Visual counter (4thfloor LRC building) and ask a staff member for a clocking-in time sheet. This is also where they pick-up the videos and/or study materials for the class.

3)      The staff member will then clock them in and will give the time sheet to the student for them to fill-in the required information (studentÕs name, student ID number, course name, course CRN # and instructorÕs name), the student will hold on to the time sheet until they are ready to clock out after doing their assignments.

4)      After completing their assignments the student will bring the completed time sheet back to the CIL/AV counter and have a staff member clock them out.

It is the studentÕs responsibility to make sure they clock-out, or else the students will receive only one minute of study time for that session.

5)      The time sheets are collected and kept at the CIL, the cumulated times are tabulated and updated every Monday.

6)      A record of studentsÕ tabulated times are kept in a blue binder at the CIL/AV counter; this way the students can keep track of their total study hours.

7)      At the end of the semester, the final tabulated semester hours for the class will be e-mailed to the class instructor.
